Finally after 15 years of the original release of Skype the software giant, Microsoft has decided to update the app and provide the app with built in call recording feature. This feature was among some of the most awaited features.
Skype call recording feature will be cloud based, which will allow its users to access the call recordings across all major devices including Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, Linux.
For a long time, the users were relying on third-party apps to record calls on Skype. Out of all, Avaer was getting quite famous and it will be interesting to see how their subscriptions gets affected once Microsoft pushes the Skype call recording feature update.
Call recording feature update will start rolling out at the end of this month and it will be available to all the latest Skype versions shortly.
“Call recording is completely cloud-based, and as soon as you start recording, everyone in the call is notified that the call is being recorded,” said the team. They added “Call recordings combine everyone’s video as well as any screens shared during the call.”
Further, call recording feature is just a part of the updates that Skype is about to receive this summer.
Microsoft redesigned Skype desktop app with a mobile like design
Yesterday, Microsoft pushed a new redesign update for the desktop app to give it a mobile like design.
Microsoft will be forcing the app users to upgrade it to Version 8.0 before September 1st, as the old desktop app is to retire in September.
The new update gave multiple features from the mobile version to the upgraded desktop version 8.0. The tweaked version of group chats now allow the users to share the photos and also the screen during calls more easily. Further, upgraded Skype also includes @ mentions, message reactions, notification panel features. Not only this, it also includes a gallery that makes it easier to find the links, documents, or photos shared in a conversation.
Later this year, Microsoft will be introducing the Read Receipts feature and an option to create private conversations. Private conversations will powered by the Signal Protocol, so that the audio calls and conversations will be end-to-end encrypted.
The software giant is also working closely on Content Creator Mode for Skype that will allow streamers, vloggers, podcasters etc., to integrate Xsplit, Wirecast, and Vmix into Skype.
Microsoft seems to be on fire these days, as the software giant has been updating it’s multiple apps. A few days back Microsoft revealed that Notepad major update will start rolling out soon and will provide the users with the much awaited features.
