Pokémon GO is about to get even better and safer for children and the way that developers have found to make it even safer is something that parents would love. According to the official blog post, “Niantic Kids, powered by SuperAwesome, is a new log-in platform that will be available to support kid Trainers in Pokémon GO.”
Niantic Kids will allow parents to control their child’s privacy via the new parent portal. Parents will be given access to review and approve their ward’s in-app permissions before they can begin to play the game. Compared to current privacy options, the all new parent portal will provide parents with better control over what and how much personal information gets shared in Pokémon GO. This way the parents can remain assured that their kids’ personal information is safe while they have fun playing the game.
The new platform for parents has been built in conjunction with SuperAwesome’s Kids Web Services. It’s an ESRB Privacy Certified and a kidSAFE Seal Program Certified company that develops tools to make apps and websites kids-friendly.
Also, the team has clearly mentioned in the blog post that the regular way to log-in will also stay there as it is, alongside Niantic Kids. The parent portal will work as an additional plus safer way to log-in by using which the parents can ensure that their kids’ personal information remains secure.
Niantic Kids platform hasn’t been just made for Pokémon GO alone, but Niantic has other games lined up as well for the future like the Harry Potter game. Others will also use this platform to provide a comparably safer overall experience to both – kids and their parents.
Last month, the developers announced Lucky Pokémon concept, which became popular instantly amongst the trainers. Clearly, the game is getting wonderful response all over and Niantic wants to make sure that its users remain safe. Through the newly included feature, the company wants to avoid any kind of data-breach or scandal that might pull down their image.
