Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Pocophone, is all set to make its global debut in New Delhi on August 22. Pocophone will be launching its first ever smartphone named as F1, which rivals high-end and globally hailed smartphones like OnePlus 6.
Xiaomi has launched Poco specifically to target the mid-range segment smartphones. However, the company hasn’t revealed much about its new sub-brand other than the fact that former Google executive and Xiaomi’s Lead Product Manager Jai Mani would be looking after the project’s progress. Jai Mani claimed on Facebook, “For the first product, we got to basics and focus entirely on speed. Not just peak performance speed, but actual, real-world speed,”.
Poco’s Indian arm also posted a tweet informing about the launch of their first ever phone in New Delhi on August 22.

Specifications: As per number of leaks that came out over the course of last month, Poco’s F1 will be built atop Snapdragon’s flagship processor, 845. The device is expected to come out with 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage, 20MP front camera with face unlock and AI-based portrait mode and USB-C connectivity. F1 will be backed by a 4,000 mAh battery and the finger print sensor will be located at the back. Also, it will be powered by MIUI with dual-SIM support.
It will be quite interesting to see the kind of response Xiaomi’s sub-brand, Poco, will receive post its launch in India and to analyze that how the new brand is planning to fight with the globally loved rivals like OnePlus.
