Facebook privacy fiasco is spreading like a blaze and after receiving a gigantic bad press, now the company has started to lose the eminent names.
After countless users, ‘the man’, now the Playboy has also deleted its accounts on Facebook. Now, the #deletefacebook campaign seems to be going in full swing as the biggies has also started to pull their accounts from the ‘not-so-now’ social media giant.
A few days ago, Elon Musk has deleted the SpaceX and Tesla FB pages in response to ‘the man’ Twitter challenge and now Playboy has become the latest company to the join the #deletefacebook movement.
Yesterday, Playboy notified about the deletion of their pages on Facebook through a press release, which were managed by Playboy Enterprises, which affected near about 25 million fans.
“The recent news about Facebook’s alleged mismanagement of users’ data has solidified our decision to suspend our activity on the platform at this time”, the company said. They further added, “There are more than 25 million fans who engage with Playboy via our various Facebook pages, and we do not want to be complicit in exposing them to the reported practices.”
One major thing here to notice is that SpaceX, Tesla, Playboy and other followers of #deletefacebook movement are still using Instagram which is owned by Facebook. May they have not realize this fact yet, or they are just happy like this only.
This fiasco has surely given a chance to the haters to pull down the image of Facebook significantly and the way this is proceeding, it looks like they are pursuing this opportunity to the fullest.
