Good News! Amazon has removed the minimum purchase requirement for the non-prime United States based customers to qualify for the free two-day shipping. This offer is limited for this holiday season.
The offer is active starting from today. However, Amazon has not specified an ending date for the offer to expire.
Previously, the non-prime members had to spend atleast $25 in order to qualify the minimum purchase requirement for the free standard shipping. The standard shipping takes about 5 to 8 days to deliver an order.
Amazon is planning to capture more sales this holiday season by expanding the free two-day shipping to all. The tech giant knows about the holiday shopping rush and it doesn’t want to leave any scope of generating profits and winning more customers.
Also, this can be considered as a strategy to steal customers from Walmart’s umbrella, as Walmart also offers free two-day shipping on orders of $35 and above.
Not only this, Amazon might be trying to test the kind of response it gets, so that it could tailor and launch some better and permanent free two-day shipping offer in near future.
As per stats, during last year’s holiday quarter, Amazon had spent a whooping $7.3 billion on shipping alone and the latest shipping offer may push the figure to even greater heights!
