Alcatel has launched another budget smartphone, 7. The newly launched device is manufactured by TCL and has been made available exclusively from carrier MetroPCS. It comes with almost all the must-have features of 2018 and flaunts a tall-and-slim display, which according to the company, “maximizes your screen space without unnecessary bulk.”
Alcatel 7 has a 6″ Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display of 2160 x 1080 resolution and with an 18:9 ratio, an MT6763T chipset with octa-core CPU running at up to 2.5 GHz, Mali-G71 MP2 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal storage. The device also has a microSD slot through which users can increase the storage up to 128 GB.
With a claim of 28 hours of talktime and 10.5 hours of video streaming, ‘7’ is backed with a battery of 4,000 mAh, with now Quick Charge suppport.
The main camera system has vertically mounted 12 MP and 2 MP sensors. The front facing camera is 8 MP and features Alcatel’s FACE KEY technology for Face Unlocking. The finger-print sensor is located at the back side below the primary camera setup.
The device comes with slightly modified Android Oreo 8.1 and with an alcatel-exclusive preinstalled app called CloserTV, a remote control app for streaming and cable services.
The new budget installment by Alcatel weighs 6.17 oz (~ 175 gm) and the overall dimensions are 6.38 x 2.95 x 0.34 inches. Alcatel 7 is priced at $179.99. Although, T-Mobile subsidiary is offering the device to its already on-board subscribers at a discounted price of $129 with new services or an upgrade of plan.
